ClassMate is Qatar’s first and only student discount platform, helping students save on food, fashion, fitness, entertainment, and everyday essentials through exclusive in-store and online offers.
As adoption grew rapidly, the original system began to show limitations in performance, scalability, and operational efficiency. With more than 100,000 downloads, rising merchant participation, and visibility on Top iPhone App Store charts in Qatar, the platform needed a foundation capable of supporting national scale.
Appening partnered with ClassMate to rebuild the entire platform from scratch, as a long-term, scalable system supporting students, merchants, and administrators.

Flutter rebuild ensured performance and speed
The app enables visual, brand-led offer discovery with category-based browsing that makes scanning fast and effortless. Discounts are clearly displayed along with location coverage, and offers can be redeemed in a single tap, designed specifically for real-world in-store use. Students can explore favorites, trending deals, and new arrivals, while digital student verification ensures secure access. Overall, the experience is optimized for speed, clarity, and frequent daily use.

Merchants gained full platform control
Merchants can independently create and manage offers, define discount types, set validity periods, and specify branch coverage. They can track redemptions in real time and measure overall performance and engagement through the portal. This self-serve approach reduces operational overhead while increasing merchant confidence and long-term retention.

Admin portal powers platform operations
The admin portal supports merchant onboarding and management, along with platform-wide redemption tracking. It provides visibility into user activity, growth trends, revenue, and overall performance analytics. Administrators also have centralized control over categories, offers, and visibility, enabling data-driven decisions and proactive management as the ecosystem continues to grow.
