About Project

Classrooms today move fast. Students are expected to listen, understand, take notes, and keep up across multiple subjects, often with little room to pause or revisit concepts later. This pressure leads to missed information, fragmented notes, and increased stress, especially during exams.

Nottu AI was conceived to solve this exact problem.

The goal was not to replace classrooms or teachers, but to support students before, during, and after class. Nottu acts as a smart learning assistant that allows students to focus on understanding concepts in real time, knowing that their notes, summaries, and revision material are being taken care of automatically.

Students face three persistent challenges:

  • Capturing everything during fast-paced lectures without losing focus
  • Organising notes, recordings, and study material across subjects
  • Revising effectively without spending hours creating flashcards, quizzes, or summaries

At the same time, parents want visibility without micromanagement, and teachers want students to stay organised and prepared without repeating the same content.

The challenge was to design a system that:

  • Works naturally inside real classrooms
  • Reduces cognitive load instead of adding more tools
  • Encourages independent learning habits
  • Scales across different learning styles and subjects
  • Enable students to record lectures safely and responsibly
  • Automatically convert lectures into clean notes, summaries, and revision material
  • Organise learning by courses and lectures for long-term use
  • Support active recall through flashcards and quizzes
  • Build low-stress study habits through nudges, not pressure
  • Design a fair, student-friendly monetization model aligned with AI usage

Product Features

Appening help you reach business goals by applying Agile methodologies.

Recording & Transcription

Students can record lectures in any language, with real-time transcription that works even offline.

The recording flow was designed with consent and clarity first, ensuring ethical usage in real classroom environments. Once a session ends, the recording is processed automatically into structured notes and summaries, allowing students to focus during class instead of scribbling frantically.

Recording is treated as an input. The real value comes from what students receive afterward.

Index Cards & Active Recall

Instead of passive reading, Nottu encourages active recall.

Lecture notes are automatically turned into index cards that students can review in short, focused sessions. The experience is intentionally minimal, helping students revise without distraction and build confidence through repetition.

This flow supports quick revision during breaks, commutes, or short study windows.

Question Banks & Pop Quizzes

Nottu generates quizzes and practice questions directly from lecture content. These quizzes are intentionally low pressure, feedback-driven, and designed to build consistent learning habits. Immediate explanations help students learn from mistakes without anxiety, while daily streaks encourage regular revision. Studying begins to feel like a natural routine rather than a stressful task, supporting confidence and long-term retention.

Assignments & Smart Planning

Nottu automatically extracts assignments and tasks from recorded lectures or uploaded material.

Tasks are organised into an Upcoming Tasks view, acting as a smart academic planner that shows what’s due next across subjects. This helps students stay organised without constantly checking multiple sources.
